Dean's Message
It gives me immense pleasure to be associated as a Dean of this esteemed new Medical College, located at this pristine area of the Queen of Hills, The Nilgiris. The Nilgiris is a location known as a tourist destination of Modern India and for its deeply rooted rich native culture with a lingering tinge of the Colonial past. Once considered as a difficult district for medical services because of its geographical and climatic constraints, it has shown the most forward strides in Medical care and pioneering work among the people of this region. I consider it as a great privilege to serve this district by means of starting this new Medical College and to provide modern medical care to this area where it always has been a dream. I am extremely happy to welcome the new batch of Indian Medical graduates to the MBBS course at Government Medical College, The Nilgiris. I ensure that the students will have the best of facilities in terms of infrastructure, academics and hostel facilities. Our faculty have been trained and specialized at premier institutions of our country, who keep themselves updated regularly

It’s a privilege and a pleasure, to welcome the first batch of MBBS students into
this prestigious and esteemed Nilgiris medical school.
Government Medical College, the Nilgiris.
Medical Education is a part and parcel of Medical Services. The aim of this
esteemed, academic institution is to cater to the needs of the common public by
providing the state of art of facilities within reach and to create, young medicos in
par excellence to national & global standards. Located amidst the lush blue green
mountains, the college campus has a beautiful ambience one of its kinds in the
country, for a peaceful education. Teaching and learning Medical Science is an
Art by itself. This new medical school will not only be a temple of Learning ,
Knowledge and Skill development to alleviate the pain of the disease , but will also
play an important role in molding the personality of the young minds by inculcating
Virtues of Compassion , Kindness , Character , Honor , Self Respect and Integrity.
This school will strive towards producing Doyens in the field of medicine with
Versatility in handling the much demanding and arduous worldly challenges.
